At the 17th-annual Keeping the Dream Alive Dinner in Manchester, hosted by the National Cultural Diversity Awareness Council, the theme of this year’s event was “America, a Nation of Immigrants,” focusing on New Hampshire’s Greek-American community. The honored guest was Stan Spirou, former Southern New Hampshire University men’s basketball coach and an immigrant from Greece.

"Like any other immigrant, it's all about what this community, what this state, what this country has meant to me and my family, and there's no better way than to celebrate it than on Martin Luther King Day,” Spirou said.

The council focuses on promoting understanding, acceptance and appreciation of all different backgrounds.
